about

This is a piece that captures that moment - when initial attachments are released and life is void, under water. Up, down, left, right, all directions, are unclear. It is womb-like, though feels much less nurturing. The emotions are deep. The lines are blurry.

It's when we have to sit and let the momentum of past choices unravel, before new vision can take hold. When someone, something (or the idea of someone or something) that we've held close has left us, and we don;t yet know how to "be" without it anymore. Things are nonlinear, and directionless. 2014

While being the most emotional piece here, it was also the most conceptual. I played with B Harmonic Minor in an open position, reharmonizing a basic melodic theme. Then added some unusual modulations.
